Courses for Kids
At Bennett languages we care, so in Civitavecchia more and more parents are choosing Bennett Languages for their children. We understand that these first learning experiences can influence a child’s attitude to learning for the rest of their lives. That’s why we do our best to create a positive learning experience right from the moment the children walk in the door. We also make sure that the children are motivated to communicate in English with their new friends in the course.
Children:
- learn by watching, listening, imitating and doing/playing
- need a variety of activities – quiet, noisy, sitting, standing and moving
- need to recycle words and expressions through speaking and playing
- will acquire language like their first language which means they can develop natural pronunciation and may have an initial “silent period”
- will develop their grammar naturally – they are not consciously trying to learn. Just simply having fun!
- can prepare for the Cambridge Young Learners’ Exams, as they get older and can start to analyse the language
Course run once weekly for two hours
Extra, extra! Story time!
The main aim of the course is to stimulate the imagination and creativity of the children and develop their confidence and the pleasure of expressing themselves in English. By using stories and drama when telling them, we can improve their ability to communicate in English and create a positive attitude towards the language – a fundamental element for their future as foreign language learners.
By the end of Story Time, the children will also have learned a new range of vocabulary and improved their pronunciation.
The experience is both cultural and educational. Research shows that reading increases cultural knowledge and linguistic ability and a language and book rich environment can increase chances of success in life.
